feel the rushing wind

It is really windy today... storm must be moving in. As I sit here watching the big trees in my back yard being tossed around like twigs, I can empathize with the trees. I have felt like the wind of life is just tossing me around in the storm... I feel windblown and run down. Living with two kids that have ADHD can really drag your branches down. It is almost as if it is so much I can't hardly hold my branches up some days.

I have several good friends who are also going through a hard time in their lives and it is so easy to get discouraged. I had lunch with a good friend yesterday who shared some of her struggles with me and as I was getting in the car to drive away, this song came on the radio and I wanted to share the part that gave me comfort in my life's storm.

"When you see the rushing wind, feel the pouring rain
hear the thunder now as the clouds roll in
and you’re blinded by the lightning
do you also hear that still, small voice saying
It’s okay, you’re not alone, you may be scared to death,
But I won’t let you go
You may think the sky above is falling
But can you hear Jesus calling"
